About
What is Chiropody?
Chiropody is a healthcare profession that focuses on the assessment, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders of the foot. At Queen Square Family Health Team, our chiropodists offer short-term services to address a variety of foot-related conditions.
Who is this for?
This service is available only to rostered patients of Queen Square Doctors who do not have private or extended healthcare coverage for chiropody. This policy is in place to manage our volumes and provide timely access to patients who do not have other means of accessing this type of care. If you have private coverage, your physician can provide you with a list of alternate private care options in the community.
How do patients access this service?
A referral from your Queen Square Doctor is required. Once a referral is received, you will be contacted by the chiropodist for a telephone screen to collect your health history and information on your foot issues. This helps determine the level of urgency for your in-office appointment.
What can patients expect?
After the initial telephone screening, your first visit will be booked in the office with the chiropodist and will involve a comprehensive foot exam. Based on the assessment, a personalized treatment plan will be developed.
What treatments and support are included?
Our chiropody services may involve:
Education and foot care advice
