Our Story

Our journey to better care

In 1964, three physicians, Dr. Keith Taylor, Dr. Dave Wilson, and Dr. Mike Dennis, joined forces to establish Queen Square Doctors, opening their doors in the Queen Square building at 24 Queen Street East in the heart of downtown Brampton. As the practice grew, it welcomed a number of dedicated and skilled physicians, including Dr. Bob Douglas, Dr. John McCurdy, Dr. Jenny Black, Dr. Jim Cairns, Dr. Derek Aspin, Dr. Fred Lui, and Dr. Ker Leggatt. Since then, Queen Square has continued to grow and welcome many dedicated physicians to the team.

From the beginning, their mission was both clear and ambitious: to provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary care to the Brampton community, with each physician contributing their unique areas of interest and expertise.

More than six decades later, Queen Square Doctors continues to uphold that mission, caring for multiple generations of families and remaining committed to delivering accessible, high-quality, and compassionate care.

In keeping with its long-standing dedication to improving patient care, Queen Square Doctors submitted a proposal to the Ontario Ministry of Health in 2011 to establish a Family Health Team, a collaborative model of primary care that brings together a variety of healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, team-based services. On January 21, 2011, Queen Square Family Health Team received its Letters of Patent, officially partnering with Queen Square Doctors to offer a more integrated approach to primary care for patients and the community.
