Overview
It’s never too late to improve your health by quitting tobacco or vaping. Our Smoking Cessation Program provides free, individualized support for patients aged 18 and over. Through one-on-one virtual counselling with our trained pharmacists and free virtual workshops, we'll help you review habits, discuss strategies, develop a personalized 'quit plan', and provide access to helpful resources, including free nicotine replacement therapy.

About
What is this program about?
Our Smoking Cessation Program provides free one-on-one support and group workshops to help you make your health a priority. The sooner you quit using tobacco and vaping products, the sooner you can breathe easier and reduce your chances of getting cancer, heart disease, stroke, and other serious illnesses.
Who is this for?
This program is for any Queen Square Family Health Team patient (aged 18 and over) who currently smokes or vapes, or has recently quit.
Our Support Options
There are different ways to get the support you need on your journey to quit
One-on-One Counselling at Queen Square (Referral Required)
What it is
The program is built around individualized virtual counselling sessions with a trained pharmacist. Your journey will include an initial visit (approximately 60 minutes) and follow-up visits as required (approximately 30 minutes).
What support is included?
During your sessions, our pharmacist will work with you to:
Review your current smoking habits and triggers.
Develop individualized strategies to help you reach your reduction or quitting goals.
Discuss the risks of smoking and the benefits of quitting.
Create a ‘quit plan’ that best suits your needs.
Connect you with community support and helpful resources.
Provide free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (patches, gums, etc.) through the STOP program.
Educate you on other treatment options that can be prescribed in collaboration with your family physician.
How to Access
You can speak with your family doctor about your interest in the program. They can provide a referral, and our internal administrative team will then contact you to book an appointment with our pharmacist.
